COME SIT ON THE FRONT PORCH WITH US

Come sit on the front porch with us,
A glass of iced cold tea is a must.
Let's visit and watch the birds in the sky,
Laugh as the squirrels scamper by.

Come sit on the front porch with us,
Watch the grandchildren play in the dust.
Listen to their squeals as they run,
In and out the pool in the hot sun.

Come sit on the front porch with us,
Smell the blooming flower musk.
When a breeze stirs the summer air,
We feel so young and debonair.

Come sit on the front porch with us,
Be at ease and worry free, with no fuss.
Smile as we watch the world rush by,
We marvel at the haste and heave a sigh.

Come sit on the front porch with us,
See how the corn has grown tall and lush.
We appreciate the labor that it took,
And enjoy the results when we cook.

Come sit on the front porch with us,
Share our tea and relish the dusk.
As the sun goes down in the west,
Rocking we'll relax, and delight in our rest.
